Former William Morris Hip-Hop Mogul Lands at CAA

Last year, it was reported that a 23-year William Morris Endeavor Entertainment (WME) veteran agent’s contract may or may not have been renewed by the agency, according to Deadline.com. Now, it is confirmed that Billboard’s 14th most powerful woman in music, Cara Lewis, has in fact found her new home at Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

“Billboard’s 14th most powerful woman in the music industry has joined Rob Light’s team at Creative Artists Agency,” wrote the Hollywood Reporter. “Client Eminem is expected to follow.”

Lewis was rep to big-name rappers like 50 Cent, Kanye West, Rihanna, Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco, Pitbull, Soulja Boy, Cee Lo Green, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Nas, Common, Big Boi, Ne-Yo, B.o.B., the Roots and Tinie Tempah at WME, to name a few.

“Cara has built a remarkable career cultivating the careers of some of the most acclaimed artists in music today,” CAA’s managing partner and head of music, Rob Light said. “Her expertise of the urban market, ability to innovate, and keen eye for talent will be great assets to our continued growth.”

When this information hit the news a few months ago, it was reported that hip hop mogul Kanye West was not going to follow Lewis. Now, the rapper is currently without representation, while fellow WME-mate Eminem is rumored to join Lewis at CAA.

“It was not clear how many of Ms. Lewis’s clients would follow her to her new job at C.A.A.,” wrote a blog from The New York Times. Although “most of Lewis’ artists will make the transition,” predicted HypeBot.com.

“This is a tough business to be in. The landscape is ever-changing,” Lewis told Billboard last year. “I love my clients, their music and the opportunity to be a partner in their success.”

Cara Lewis will be based at the New York City CAA office.

Foo Fighters On Tap To Headline At Blizzcon 2011

Over the past several years, Blizzcon attendees have been treated to a closing concert at the end of the geeky festivities. In 2009, Ozzy Osbourne brought the darkness to the Anaheim Convention Center and last year Jack Black’s Tenacious D headlined the event with Dave Grohl playing drums for them. Dave Grohl is back for Blizzcon 2011 as the Foo Fighters will take center stage. As usual, Blizzard’s in-house band, the Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftains, will open for them. When asked about performing for the throngs of eager warcrafters Dave Grohl replied snarkily, “We’re pretty sure that in the future, music historians will look back at BlizzCon 2011 as the unquestionable pinnacle of Foo Fighters’ long and illustrious career. We look forward to living up to that prediction by bringing the Horde and Alliance together to rock the hell out of Anaheim next month.” While Blizzcon 2011 and the concert are sold out, fans can still view the festivities by ordering the Blizzcon Virtual Ticket, which live streams the event over the internet and on DIRECTV.

After a long four years of relationship, Justin Timberlake finally proposed to girlfriend Jessica Biel. The couple reportedly got engaged to be married when vacationing in Jackson, Wyoming where they stayed in the five-star Amangani Resort.

Timberlake and Biel has been dating since 2007, and in early 2011 they took a ‘break’ from their relationship. But destiny called and both answered. In Fall 2011, the couple got back together again and had a conversation about taking the next step.

Although separated for three months, Timberlake still showed affection for Biel. In an interview with Vanity Fair, he said:

“She is the single-handedly most significant person in my life … In my 30 years, she is the most special person, ok? I just don’t want to say much more, because I have to protect things that are dear to me – for instance, her.”
